These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of opentheleague.org (the "Site"), operated by Open the League, an independent fan campaign. By using the Site or signing the petition, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
Open the League is a fan-led advocacy campaign for promotion and relegation in American soccer. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by MLS, the USL, U.S. Soccer, or FIFA. Signing the petition is a public expression of support; it is not a contract, vote, or legally binding action.
You must be 13 years or older to sign or use interactive features of the Site.
When you sign, comment, or submit a photo or video, you confirm that the content is yours to share and doesn't infringe anyone's rights. You grant Open the League a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and share that content as part of the campaign (including on the Site, in social posts, and in materials presented to leagues, owners, and media). Don't submit content you don't have the right to share.
We may moderate, hide, or remove content and block users who violate these Terms, at our discretion.
By signing, you consent to public display of your first name, last initial, and city, and to your data being shared in aggregated/anonymized form, as described in our Privacy Policy.
The Site presents arguments, an illustrative financial model, and figures drawn from public reporting. These are for advocacy and illustration only — they are not guarantees, and they are not financial, legal, or investment advice. The campaign is asking leagues and their owners to propose an open system; we are not prescribing a specific plan. We make no warranty that any figure, projection, or outcome is accurate or will occur.
Club names, league names, logos, and other trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used here for identification and commentary only. References to MLS, USL, U.S. Soccer, FIFA, clubs, players, or executives do not imply any affiliation or endorsement. The Site may link to third-party sites and services, which have their own terms and policies.
The Site's original content, design, and campaign materials belong to Open the League. You may share our shareable graphics and links for the purpose of supporting the campaign.
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Open the League and its organizers and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Open the League and its organizers from claims arising out of content you submit or your misuse of the Site.
We may update these Terms from time to time and will post the updated version here with a new date.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Duval County, Florida.
